So it has been awhile since we have posted anything on here and in that time we have purchased and moved into our first home. We closed on Friday, May 29th and it was the happiest day! Coby's parents had planned on coming down that Saturday to help us move in, but then decided that if we were getting the keys on Friday they they would go a head and come early.
We officially signed our part of the papers on Thursday afternoon and our Realtor told us that we should have the keys on Friday around noon. Well Coby's parents arrived around 2ish and we still hadn't heard antyhing. This was quite annoying since we already had two trucks and a van Coby borrowed from work all loaded up. Finally at 3:30 we got the ok and drove to your new home, we got the keys there and began to unpack. With three vehicals it didn't take too long to get most of our stuff moved over.
After moving over tons of stuff Coby's mom and I decided to start painting while the boys finished up the moving part. We wanted to paint our bedroom and the spair bedroom so at 10pm we started. We soon realised that we were not going to have enough paint so we finished what we could and called it a night at 3am!!! Since the cable guy was going to be there the next morning at 8am we all decided to stay at the new place (we needed to get as much sleep as possible) and since the rooms smelled like paint we had a little campout on the livingroom floor!!
The next morning we unpacked, cleaned, finished painting and set a few of the rooms up as best as we could. While the guys made a run to Sam's, us girls needed to get a little home decore shopping done. We went to the Home Goods store and Pam and I both found a few things, I really wanted to find some waist high candle holders to place on the side of the fireplace. Well the ones I found were amazing, but didnt really have a presence on the floor so for now they are on the mantel. Saturday night Coby's parents left and we spent the rest of the weekend hanging things and unpacking boxes.
The work week started and Coby left me to do the rest of the unpacking and organizing to myself. We had tons to get done, since in good Kristin and Coby fashion, we were hosting a house warming/wedding reception party at our place that next weekend. Well, we got it all done and were ready to welcome our first official guests (that didnt have to help move) Blake, Amber and Kylie! Friday night was the party so we got ready and welcomed our friends into our new place. It was a great night and was nice to have some of our closet friends and family there to help us celebrate all our new happenings. After only a few hours of sleep we woke up bright and early saturday morning to help Kylie find a dog. After driving all over the DFW area we arrived at the Arlington Aniaml Shelter where little Sophie was waiting for us. She is the sweetest dog ever and has a little spunk to her that I love. Good thing we were not there for too long, because Amber and I were on the prowl to adopt our own dogs, whether our husbands agreed or not, haha. We watched little Sophie while Blake, Amber and Kylie went to the George Straight concert at the new Cowboys stadium.
All in all the first two weeks in our home have been wonderful. We have had tons of family and friends over, so while there is no real furniture filling the rooms there is tons of love (corny I know:) ). We love visitors so know that our door is open anytime you are in the Arlington area!!
Pictures will be posted soon!
