Honeymoon - Day 1

OK so I am supposed to talk all about our honeymoon, and Kristin is coming behind me tomorrow to talk about our wedding (This is Coby).
We got to the airport around 7:00 Monday morning to catch our 9:00 flight. We carried all of our bags on, so everything went smooth. We were waiting in our terminal by 7:20 and boarded the plane at 8:30. Once we took off, we bought some headphones for $2 each and watched an episode of the office and some other show during the flight. We landed in Mexico and went through customs with no problems. Now all that stood between us and our resort was a 30 minute shuttle ride!!

It was too early to go to our room when we got to the resort, so we left our bags at the front with the bell boy, and headed strait for the buffet!! Our resort was very jungle-esque (if that's a word). It had 18 separate 3-story bungalow style buildings, all with 12 rooms each. We navigated through all kinds of flora and fauna, and found the beach, pool, and buffet. The food was not what we expected, but we ate it and enjoyed it. Next we walked about half a mile to the Playacar Plaza, which is a big outdoor shopping center. we bought a can of mousse for Kristin, and some sunscreen for 250 pesos (about $20). Once we got back to the hotel, it was 3:00, and time to check in! We were surprised by rose pedals and 2 towel swans on the bed in the shape of a heart. We didn't know this at the time, but the best part of the swan display was having 4 extra towels!! We spent the rest of the day wondering around the beach, and at the swim up bar.

Monday night, we went to a Caribbean Beach Fiesta. We had a wonderful seafood dinner on the beach. We had shrimp, scallops, calamari, salmon, steak, chicken, and of course, an open bar! After dinner, they had Latin dancers dance on stage in all kinds of extravagant costumes. This was really cool for a while, but got old after about 30 minutes. After the dancing, Pancho and Franco, the hosts, called 5 guys up to the stage for a contest. I happened to be sitting on the front row, and was one of the lucky guys to get pulled up. We had to sing La Cuca Rocha with a mouthful of tequila. The crowd voted, and of course, I WON!!! I won some cheesy t-shirt that some club had given the hotel. A little later that night, (about 11:00) we went back out to the beach and just relaxed. The beach was empty that late at night, and it felt wonderfull outside. This was a PERFECT night. we went back to our room and went to bed around midnight.
